Botany Definitions

I’m going to be adding definitions as I come upon them throughout this semester

Hypha:is a long, branching filamentous structure of a fungus. ,Hyphae are the main mode of vegetative growth, and are collectively called a mycelium.

Plant Anatomy. The study of the tissue and cell structure of organs

Plant Cytology: The study of cell structure and development.

Plant Embryology: The study of embryo development.

Phytomorphology: The study of the structure and form development of plants in their individual and evolutionary-historical development. Plant Morphology.

Plant Habit: The overall structure of a plant. Includes a number of elements such as stem length and development, branching pattern, and texture.
