Art Space: Spike Island / Bristol

Spike Island is an arts space in Bristol. Is a creative space that hosts a number of artists in their artists studios and is built around a creative community centered programme of events such as open studios, workshops, talks, exhibitions and has a café.

Past exhibitions that have been shown at Spike Island include:

Maeve Brennan – The Drift

Melissa Gordon – Material Evidence

Charlie Tweed – Notes Part I, II & III

Giles Round – They bow. Curtain. No Applause

I think that Spike Island would be a good next step for me as someone I should contact for an exhibition/to inquire about the exhibition process to show there. The exhibiton space there is nice and light and also has several different areas to use.

As a space that should be on my creative sector radar, Spike Island also provide production services. This includes equipment hire, audio visual installation help, fabrication (building things), film and video production and post production.

I have been there are few times for the open studios as well as attended a visual media seminar type thing there.
