INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS

Note the equipment boxes & quantities of kit included within each box.

Check and report any missing items at the point of loading/unloading.

  • Source the location for each significant item for the installation before running any cables in. Place the speakers on their stands, put the computers on their table and visualise where everything needs to be with regards to their location within the space before plugging anything in.
  • Source the power for each speaker and run the cables (power extensions / sockets) from the wall sockets to the base of each speaker stand. Ideally, one 13 amp socket per speaker. Before you turn the sockets on, connect the IEC for each speaker to its socket.
  • * All covered on separate page * Setup the computers & audio interfaces. Power the Interfaces ON before the Macs. Boot up the Macs & load Ableton sessions.
  • Connect the XLR cables from the Outputs of the interfaces to the ‘Analog In’ on the relevant speaker. Do this in order of ‘Worlds’, i.e. Green then Yellow, then
  • Turn the speakers ON (by providing power from the sockets on the wall – not by using the on/off switch on each speaker) and test audio through them one ‘World’ at a time.
  • Place the projectors and connect into the HDMI splitter out from Teddy’s laptop. Run the two HDMI cables from two outputs on the splitter into the two projectors. Power on the projectors & check the image.
  • Run the long MIDI cable out from the White end of the USB-to-MIDI adaptor that comes with the MIDI Sprout. The cable must reach from the plant to Teddy’s laptop.
  • Secure all fixtures & cables.

Adjusting the GLM Network

This should not need to take place, but if there is a fundamental requirement to recalibrate the speakers, or globally change the volume of ALL speakers you will need to:

  • * IF CHANGING VOLUME: Connect all speakers via CAT5 cables, linking out from the GLM box first into a speaker near the computer, then connecting a CAT5 cable from that speaker into the next, etc. until you reach the final speaker in the chain. If only changing volume, go to Step #4.
  • * ONLY IF RECALIBRATING: Move everything from Teddy’s laptop World to the centre of the room and connect the calibration mic to the GLM box.
  • * ONLY IF RECALIBRATING: Connect the XLR cables from outputs 1-16 from the Motu 24Ao. The number sequence is:
    1. Green speakers 1-4
    2. Yellow speakers 5-10
    3. Orange speakers 11-16
  • Open the GLM app and make adjustments using the Volume control or Calibration tools as necessary. Save the settings in the GLM app if altering the Calibration.
  • Make sure the volume is set to 100% (0.0dB) before unplugging the CAT5 cables and return the XLRs to their respective Worlds if required.
